Last week in collaboration with Ambition Unlimited, we hosted our first ever Primary Careers Fair at Education House.

We were delighted to see over 400 pupils in year 5 + 6 across 17 of our Primary Academies attend the 2 day event, with a keen interest for future careers events to take place in the next academic year.

Upon entering the building, pupils were given coloured lanyards and a timetable to match their group for the day. They were welcomed by staff at The Education Exchange, Sarah Ward (Ambition Unlimited), Donna Brown (EP), Trudi Bartle (Deputy CEO) and Andy Barnett (CEO) talking about their career and building up excitement for what the day had to offer.

Throughout both days, pupils rotated through sessions with four different employers, taking part in interactive activities, asking questions, and learning first-hand about a variety of career pathways.

The event was filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and brilliant conversations, as students explored different industries and began to understand how their learning connects to future careers and had a hugely positive outcome from both the pupils and staff.

A huge thank you to all the employers who gave up their time to host several sessions across the two days.

These sessions were hosted by:

  • Ian Straw CMgr FCMI (Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts/ Vulcan to the Sky Trust)
  • Becky Gill (Magna Science Adventure Centre
  • Tom Butterworth (Club Doncaster Foundation)
  • James Bank (Doncaster College)
  • Paula Carter (Inicio Success)
  • Daniel Tinnion & Remi Luke (Active Fusion)
  • Darren Needham (The ARK Media)
  • Brad Danks (Kitlocker)

Also a thank you to Jag Singh (Head of Academy at Heckmondwike) and Mikaela Moore (Head of Academy at Hatfield Woodhouse) for hosting a session of careers in teaching?

And of course, none of this would have been possible without Sarah, Hollie and the whole Ambition Unlimited Team!
