Let’s Talk SEND 2025: A Day of Insight, Impact and Inclusion
On 20 June 2025, the Royal Armouries in Leeds became a hub of inspiration and collaboration as over 170 Education Exchange Partners gathered for the National SEND Conference 2025.
Hosted by The Education Exchange, the event brought together educators, leaders, and SEND specialists united by a shared mission: to strengthen inclusive practice in mainstream secondary schools. The day was packed with thought-provoking keynotes and dynamic workshops that challenged and inspired attendees.
Keynote speakers Tom Rees and Rachel Wilkes opened the day with powerful insights into leadership and inclusive education. Throughout the event, expert practitioners—including Lynn Hoyland, Alexis Powell-Howard, Sarah Spencer, Fin O’Regan, Simone Revell, Neville Silcock, Katie Troake, and Dr Helen Ross—led sessions covering:
- Trauma-informed practice
- Creating therapeutic learning environments
- Supporting speech, language, and literacy development
- Understanding ADHD, dyslexia, and neurodiversity
- Implementing practical strategies for meaningful change

“The networking with other attendees was excellent and there was a real buzz and passion for SEND from attendees”
Sarah Gill, Delta Academies Trust
In addition to the programme, attendees explored a vibrant exhibitor space featuring organisations making a real impact in the SEND sector. We were proud to connect with Academy21, Optimus Education, Inspired Education Group, Literacy Gold, Mighty Writer Ltd, Everway, EDClass Ltd, Fortis Therapy & Training Ltd, Scanning Pens, AQA, and Ambitious about Autism.

“It was a unique opportunity for a large number of professionals to meet, discuss and share best practice.”
